Basic Settings

Here are some of the important settings for the blogger platform, which are necessary and useful to improve your experience and improve your website.

Lazy Load

Make your images load only when they needed to load.

Go to Blogger > Settings > Lazy Load Turn it on. Example:

WebP images

Automatically optimise your image in next-generation format, which is lightweight for websites.

Go to Blogger > Settings > WebP images Turn it on. Example:

Comments

Select the location of the comment as Embedded so that it works perfectly, you can also enable who can comment “Anyone” and set comment moderation so that you can approve the comments to stop spam.

Comment Message:

Note: You can also use “comments from message” to show your message comments at the top heading location in the articles.

Meta Tags

Turn on the description box for every post to improve SEO performance.

Go to Blogger > Settings > Meta Tags and enable the search description. Insert your keywords and website information. Example:

Crawlers and Indexing

Turn on custom robots.txt to make control which pages need to be indexed on Google.

Go to Blogger > Settings > Custom robots.txt Enable it and Use this sitemap generator tool to insert your website sitemap. Example:

Custom Robots Header

Turn on this option, and control that only the homepage and posts should be indexed in Google, not archive and search pages.

Go to Blogger > Settings > Custom Robots Header Enable this option and check mark as follows below images. For Home:

For Posts:

Monetisation

Turn on this option only if you want to use Google AdSense ads on your website. It will show AdSense pub ID to advertisers.

Go to Blogger > Settings > Custom ads.txt Get the ads text code from the official Google Adsense website. Example:

Manage Blog

Always make sure to take a backup of your website every week if you make any changes or write new articles because in any such uncertain situation, if the blogger account is not accessible, then there are no option options for backup.

Go to Blogger > Settings > Import & Backup content Example:

Site Feed

Set this option according to the documentation of each template; new templates only support Short Blog Feed, which makes your blog content security high and makes your data not accessible through the API of the blogger.

Go to Blogger > Settings > Allow blog feed Example:

Note: Do not select the “none” option, which makes your website not work perfectly.
